Heres a link to an excellent writeup in the Edmonton Sun about our C-130 Hercules pilots.

Some call Canada's pilots the "cowboys of the sky," but Peters knows that he must fly low on this day, to avoid being shot at from the ground by Taliban insurgents bent on preventing him from delivering his cargo to one of Afghanistan's most volatile southern regions.

"I think uneducated people see us as cowboys because of the way we fly," Peters smiles. "But if they knew anything about it, they'd see that's the way we have to fly," adds the freckled young aviator.

"Everything's safe. There's no cowboyism, really. It's all calculated."
